Toronto Transit Commission Labour Disputes Resolution Act, 2011 (Bill 150, March 2011)

Bill 150 declared the Toronto Transit Commission an essential service, which took away its workers’ right to strike.

Submitted by the Amalgamated Transit union.

The ILO Committee on Freedom of Association ruled on this case at its March 2016 meeting and concluded that provisions of Bill 150 were not in conformity with principles of freedom of association.
